In line with His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s vision of leaving no one and no place behind, Senator of the President and ZANU PF Women’s League Secretary, Senator Mabel M. Chinomona, is spearheading wide-ranging women empowerment initiatives across Manicaland Province.
Through the ZANU PF Women’s League, led in the province by Chairlady Cde Dorothy Mabika, empowerment programmes are being taken directly to the grassroots.
The leadership is visiting all party districts in Manicaland and engaging women at cell level to ensure inclusive participation and equitable access to opportunities.
The programmes cover a diverse range of practical and income-generating skills, including poultry and piggery production, driving lessons, mortuary science, beauty therapy, Early Childhood Development (ECD) training, broom and mop making, among others.
These initiatives are aimed at equipping women with hands-on skills that contribute towards the attainment of Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an upper middle-income society.
At national level, Cde Sisko Sibanda, the National Projects Trainer, and Cde Wickson Chadambuka, the Women’s League National Projects Coordinator, are working closely with the Village Development Coordinator (VDC) to ensure the successful rollout of the programmes at community level.
The VDC plays a key role in coordinating development initiatives within villages, identifying priority needs in consultation with local communities, and ensuring that government programmes reach the intended beneficiaries.
Through this structure, the Women’s League is imparting vital skills and knowledge to women, enabling them to sustain their families and actively contribute to national economic development.
“By 2030, every household must be able to survive, and every family must be able to put money in their pocket,” Senator Chinomona emphasised, reaffirming the League’s commitment to women-led economic empowerment.
The impact of these initiatives is already being felt across Manicaland, with women gaining confidence, skills, and a renewed sense of economic independence.
Chairlady Cde Dorothy Mabika’s door-to-door engagement in wards across the province is ensuring that no woman is left behind.
The Women’s League’s work in Manicaland stands as a strong example of the power of grassroots-driven development.
Guided by the party mantra, “Musangano unotangira kumasero” (development starts at the grassroots), the League continues to transform lives and build a foundation for sustainable national growth.
