If you are a Mbira music fan, and want to save a bit of money for drinks at the Bira reMbira concert next week, come early!
Early birds will be allowed in for free!
The event will be held at Gwanzura Stadium in Highfield.
The move, organisers said, was aimed at giving back to the community for supporting and appreciating mbira music – the iconic Zimbabwean traditional genre.
However, those who want to get free entrance have to come before 6pm and thereafter music fans will be asked to pay US$5 for standard (terrace), VIP US$10 and VVIP US$50.
Several top mbira artists the likes of Jah Prayzah, Diana Mangwenya, Andy Muridzo, Hope Masike, Nyamasvisva, Amadhuve Sasha, Kurai Makore, Vee Mhofu and Gushungo will be performing.
The bira is put together by Jive and Chipaz Promotions in partnership with the Zimbabwean government.
Earlier, Partson Chimbodza – known as Chipaz in the showbiz industry – said by bringing the Bira reMbira to Gwanzura they wanted more people to attend and enjoy.
“September is also a mbira month where Zimbabwe celebrates the recognition made by Unesco to the traditional instrument Mbira as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity accorded to Zimbabwe and Malawi,” he said. “So, any artist who fuses this instrument fits to be part of the line-up.

Choosing Gwanzura we want to be close to people and it has a historical story to tell on another day,” Chipaz said.
