A visit by Cde Tapiwa Masenda, Provincial Chairman for the Mashonaland West Youth League, and Cde Shepherd Marime, National Secretary for Education in the Youth League, to Msampakaruma Ward 10 in Siakobvu marked a pivotal moment in youth empowerment and sports development in the Nyaminyami area.
Chief Musambakaruma urged the youth to value harmony between people and wildlife, highlighting the importance of conservation over poaching.
He called on young people to embrace the theme “Sober Youth Enjoy Sporting, Not Poaching,” underscoring the dangers of substance abuse and illegal wildlife activities.
Cde Masenda emphasized the critical role of youth in national development, particularly in the equitable allocation of agricultural inputs and resources.
He pledged to work in collaboration with both provincial and national leadership to achieve the goals of Vision 2030.
Through the Presidential Youth Empowerment Trust, local youth have already seen tangible support, including the acquisition of two tipper trucks and a front-end loader. These resources will enable youth-led groups to launch and sustain community development projects.
In a show of further support, Cde Masenda issued fishing permits across four categories, promoting legal and sustainable fishing.
Cde Thomas Chidzomba, shadow Member of Parliament for Chinhoyi Constituency, donated a complete soccer kit and five soccer balls to local teams.
He also awarded a full scholarship to 19-year-old Moses Chacharika of the C Lions team, who will now join the Chinhoyi Rangers football club.
Cde Marime contributed a Starlink internet kit to be used by a local school, advancing digital access and educational opportunities in the district.
The Minister of State for Harare Province and Politburo Secretary for Education, Charles Tavengwa, sent a message through Cde Marime, reiterating the importance of steering young people away from drugs and poaching as part of the broader Vision 2030 agenda.
This visit showcased the government’s and stakeholders’ deep commitment to youth empowerment and environmental stewardship. With such unified support, the future looks promising for the youth of Nyaminyami.
