Tatenda Makuni releases a gem featuring Jonah Chivasa

Worship leader — Tatenda Makuni — has released a gem of a song — Hutsvene — featuring the talents of Jonah Chivasa.

Produced by the revered David Sengwayo and penned by Jonah Chivasa, Hutsvene is a call to holiness.

“The angels cry holy day and night, then we have a God who says ‘be holy, for I am holy’. It is a command. Christians need to desire to be more and more like Christ, refusing to conform to the patterns of this world. Holy simply defined means to be separate, Leviticus 20 v 26, ‘You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own,” Tatenda is about the new single.

The collaboration produced a song that will stand the test of time. Hutsvene is one of the most beautiful and emotional pieces of music to date.

And this is hardly surprising considering that Tatenda put in a lot of work into the video produced by Naledi productions who also work on some of Janet Manyowa’s work and also the song was co-written by David Sengwayo, Allen Jenje and Tatenda Makuni.

For those not in the know, Tatenda Makuni has been a worship leader for several years now, leading worship mostly in church.

This experience has impacted her music career, as she understands the true essence of worship. During university she was part of the Africa University Choir and was part of the Africa University Choir that toured the United States of America in the year 2009.

This experience was invaluable for her and has helped shape her music career and to collaborate with others in music and ministry for the Glory of God.  Tatenda loves to sing and to worship the Lord through music and worship.

Her first single Rise was released back in 2021. This was followed by two singles a year later called The horse and The Rider and Mwari Wakanaka.

Last year marked a significant milestone as she released her first ever album (Goodness and Mercy) with five songs.

The album features songs such as King of Glory, Goodness and Mercy, Mweya Mutsvene, Lift up a Praise and Believers. Watch the video:
