Ghanaian born intellectual, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang bade farewell to thousands of Graduates at the 20th Women’s University In Africa’s Graduation Ceremony in Harare.
The colourful Ceremony held recently saw over 1 000 men and women getting capped on the day, carrying home Diplomas, Bachelor’s Degrees, Masters Degrees and others pocketing Doctrines in their academic archives.
Delivering her main speech of the day, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang urged the new Graduates to remain humble in the society despite making such a milestone achievement in their lives.
She also emphasised on the need to remain focused and setting life goals accordingly.
Speaking on the same Ceremony, the Institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Sunungurai Dominica Chingarande, praised the outgoing WUA Chief, Professor Opoku-Agyemang‘s transformative impact during her six-year tenure with the University.
“Her visionary leadership has shaped our university’s growth and development,” narrated Professor Chingarande soon after introducing The Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Best Female Leader Award, an award which was initiated as a way of honouring the exiting University’s Chancellor.
Also present on WUA‘s 20th Graduation Ceremony were people from all walks of life, including Commerce and Industry Gurus, Government Representatives, Men of Cloth and the who is who in the Academic Arena.
Deputy Minister of High and Tertiary Education, Innovation and Technology Department, Hon. Simelisizwe Sibanda, took the reigns as the day’s Guest of Honour.
A brain child of Professor Hope Cynthia Sadza and Dr Fay King Chung, WUA came into being in the year 2002 and its growth has seen thousands of people getting their lives transformed after aquiring resourceful knowledge from The Women’s University Of Africa whose major objective is based on Gender Equality Empowerment.
The 20th Graduation Ceremony indeed lived up to its billing, congratulations WUA, fare thee well Professor Agyemang!
