Women must advance their careers to the fullest extent and take their place in society in order to get and give the most they can.
And this, according to Tatenda Kufa, will mean that women can play a key role in defining the structure and direction of modern life and all that this entails.
Ms Kufa is member of the customer service team of MultiChoice Zimbabwe and is using the timely reminder of International Women’s Month to remind herself – and others – those modern women are capable of doing anything they wish and that their role is second to none.
“Our time has come and we must play the role that we know we must undertake in order to contribute to the growth, development and success of the society in which we live,” she said.
Ms Kufa describes herself as a woman of God who is out to win, and she intends to take her own advice, living life to the fullest and doing everything she can to release her own ambitions and help people with whom she comes into contact to achieve theirs.
She has a degree from Africa University and holds a marketing diploma from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as an executive certificate in project management and an executive certificate in strategic public relations and business studies, both from the University of Zimbabwe.
Tatenda Kufa is at present pursuing a master’s degree in business administration through the Africa University!
“Several years ago I felt I had a calling to the word of God, so in 2017 I attended Charis Bible College, run by Andrew Womack Ministries, where I studied for and obtained a qualification of Associate Biblical Studies,” she said.
She is at present a customer service representative on the team at MultiChoice Zimbabwe and gains huge enjoyment from her work with and for the many customers who look to her and colleagues for advice, assistance and direction in a range of areas.
“All of this has made me the woman I am today, and I look forward to a lifetime to doing good things for myself and for others,” she said.
She is concerned that some women feel held back In their career paths by low ambition and lower expectations than men, with resultant lack of progress.
“But my advice for them is to have the greatest ambition for themselves and not to hold back on their expectations of what they can achieve in life, so they can be the best they can and achieve the most in life.”
Women’s month is for her a time to celebrate and to honour the roles and contribution of women in all spheres of activity and influence.
“It’s a time to remind women are a blessing in society,” she said.
“To the younger ones around us, I say: just go for it and go for it now! Don’t wait to launch into the deep. Study widely and climb that ladder. If ever you feel the need to change careers, it’s never too late so do it.”
Ms Kufa enjoys reality shows and soaps on DStv and finds relaxation after a busy day in watching the likes of The River, Lingashoni, The Pastors’ Wives and The Real; Housewives shows.
