Police have confirmed the arrest of Thandolwenkosi Ndlovu alias Sauro, in connection with five cases of murder which occurred in Harare City Centre between 28 August 2023 and 4 September 2023.
The 20-year-old suspect who is of no fixed aboard would target “street kids” who will be fast asleep and slit open the victims’ stomach to remove genitals and other body parts using empty broken bottle.
The accused would then boil or braai the human parts on any open fire place and eat them while in the city centre.
Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi conformed the suspect was positively linked to five murder cases which occurred on 28 August 2023 at the corner of George Silundika Avenue and Simon Muzenda Street.
“The suspect is believed to be living in the streets and would target homeless people and removed their body parts and genitals using broken bottles and braai them.
“He also has a case of attempted armed robbery in Milton Park,” said Nyathi in the statement.
The macabre incidents occurred between August 28 and September 4 and police left no stone unturned to nab the serial killer.
Police are yet to establish whether or not the motive was for ritual purposes.
Investigations of more possible murders are still underway.
