The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZIMPARKS) has launched a housing scheme for its employees in a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing the living standards of its workforce.
Some 50 employees were recently presented with offer letters for residential stands in Kadoma, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards property ownership.
The residential scheme is a collaborative effort involving ZIMPARKS, the City of Kadoma, and Pure Gold, a private land development company.
This partnership aims to tackle the pressing issue of affordable housing for workers in a challenging economic landscape.
Employees expressed their gratitude and excitement over the initiative. They described receiving their offer letters as life-changing, with many noting that owning land has become increasingly difficult due to rising property prices.

As ZIMPARKS continues to improve employee morale through better remuneration and benefits, the Zimbabwe Parks and wildlufe Authority Director General, Dr Fulton Upenyu Mangwanya, announced plans to expand the housing project to accommodate all employees by 2026.
“Our aim is to ensure that every employee has a chance to own a home. This initiative is not just about housing; it’s about creating a legacy for future generations.”
In Zimbabwe, many workers across various sectors struggle to acquire properties due to economic instability. This housing scheme is poised to provide much-needed relief and security, ensuring that employees can retire with a sense of accomplishment and stability.
As the initiative unfolds, it promises not only to uplift individual lives but also to strengthen communities and foster a sense of belonging among ZIMPARKS employees.
