Telecomms giant — TelOne — Friday donated bins to the Zimbabwe Cricket in Harare.
Speaking at the handover ceremony TelOne acting chief operating officer Mr Joseph Machiva said environment management was key pillar for their corporate social investment programme.
“As some of you may already be aware, TelOne has defined Environmental Management as a key pillar for our Corporate Social Investment programming. As such we have, since 2016 been involved in several initiatives aimed at contributing to sustainable environmental management.
“Chief among these initiatives has been the ‘Provide-A-Bin’ Programme whose main aim is to support clean cities through providing litter receptacles.
“This programme has so far taken us to 35 cities, towns and district centres where we have donated over 5000 litter bins collectively,” he said.
“Through this programme – which we execute jointly with our partners Zimplats – we are excited to be extending this sustainable environments initiative to the sports sector.
“We want to continue strengthening our role as a major player in the cleaning of our country.”
he said the donation was the beginning of a great partnership between TelOne and Zimbabwe Cricket.
