Flamboyant Zanu PF Gokwe Nembudziya legislator Justice Mayor Wadyajena has won his case against Borrowdale Brooke Homeowners Association (BBHOA) after they had deactivated his vehicle tags and relegating him to using the visitors’ lane to enter the plush residential area.
Wadyajena, known for flaunting his riches and driving fancy vehicles including a US$210 000 Lamborghini Urus was accused by the association chaired by businessman Shingi Munyeza of disturbing peace in the serene neighbourhood that houses some of the country’s millionaires and executives.
The youthful legislator challenged the matter at the High Court leading to Wednesday’s ruling by Judge Justice Never Katiyo.
“The respondent shall immediately restore Applicant’s access rights to the Borrowdale Brooke Estate by fully reactivating Applicant’s tags.
“The Respondent and its employees are hereby interdicted from deactivating Applicant’s access tags without following due process or the authority of a court order.
“Each party shall bear its own costs,” Justice Katiyo said.
This comes after BBHOA chairman Shingi Munyeza wrote a letter of disapproval to Wadyajena complaining about the flamboyant businessman’s behaviour.
Wadyajena rocked the normally serene suburb by driving around in a thunderous vehicle between midnight and 1am on May 11, at the bemusement of his wealthy neighbours.
The association proceeded to institute disciplinary measures against the colourful youthful legislator.
Wadyajena won an expansive mansion in the Brooke and has business interests in transport and construction sectors.
