A whooping US$5 000 reward has been put on offer for anyone with leading information that can be used to find two girls who went missing in June.
Tinashe Severa, the father of the two girls who has put the offer confirmed the development to Gemnation News in an interview yesterday.
Severa said the two girls Imara Severa (9) and Margaret Severa (8) were last seen on June 10 2024, at Dominican Convent Primary School in Harare.
In a video circulating on various socials, Severa says the children were picked up at school by his ex-wife Wadzanai Mabveni at 4pm on 10 June 2024 and they have not been seen since.
The distressed father adds that he reached out to his ex-wife’s family and they professed ignorance about the whereabout of his daughters.
“As far as I know from that date. We have made extensive enquiries from my ex-wife, family from the Mabveni families and they also do not know where my Imara Severa and Margaret Severa are.
“They also do not know where Wadzanai Mabveni is. As a father I’m quite worried about my two daughters. I do not know where they are currently. I do not know what condition they are in and to be quite honest, at this stage we have been looking for them for more than 50 days now without success, I am not sure whether they are still alive,” Severa said.
Local authorities have partnered with the family in the search, employing various resources, including search teams, volunteers, and community engagement initiatives.
Flyers featuring the girls’ photos and descriptions have been distributed throughout the area, and social media campaigns are gaining traction in an effort to spread awareness.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have been in the area around the school on the day of the disappearance, or anyone with any information, no matter how small, to reach out to the local police department.
