Frankly speaking, they don’t make videos like they used to.
Nowadays it is like watching a whole movie trailer what the action, gun shots and high speed chases.
This is what Freeman alongside Tinashe Mutarisi among few notables have done in the catchy music video by the HKD boss simply tiled Robbery.
And just how Freeman managed to get Tinashe Mutarisi on the video is a story for another day.
This time around, Freeman together with Tinashe or simply Nash in combat turned on their style in all black outfits and bullet proof vests clutching machine guns and other war artillery.
It was like a script plucked out of a Hollywood blockbuster movie.
The video shows how much work was put in and also endless possibilities in creativity.
The video was done by Charlie.Shot.Me while the song was produced by Cymplex.
But don’t be fooled by the title of the song, in fact, this is no gangster type of song.
It is a sad love song where a man sacrifices for his woman.
In the video, Freeman whose real name is Emergy Slyvesta Chizanga, plays a guy who was offered an opportunity to join a robbery crew by his friend, but he initially hesitantly refused to take the offer.
Upon meeting his girlfriend and finding out that her relative was sick and she could not afford to buy the medication, Freeman willingly went back to join the mafia gang, but ran out of luck as he was later caught and arrested by the police.
The line “nekuda kwerudo ndachinja kuita criminal” (because of love I have decided to be a criminal) shows that Freeman had to sacrifice for his girlfriend to become a criminal.
In the video, he is not even blaming the girl for getting him arrested, but instead promised marriage upon release from the prison.
Robbery is off his 10th studio album of the same.
The video streamed over 100K views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release.
