Saturday night will go down in Mbare history as one of the most electrifying events in recent memory, as the Swan cigarette brand made its grand debut with a spectacular music launch at Rufaro Stadium.
With an epic vibe that could rival the best of Harare’s nightlife, the Swan Launch wasn’t just an event—it was an unforgettable spectacle that had everyone talking.
The activation of the new cigarette line turned into a massive music gig, drawing a crowd so large, it felt like Mbare had come alive again.
The atmosphere was electric, with music, colorful crowds, and the unmistakable buzz of excitement filling the air.
The investments made by the brand were clearly worth every penny—Mbare, the oldest suburb in Harare, was back in the spotlight, and it felt good.
But the real icing on the cake? The Zim dancehall scene had a moment to shine, as Swan treated the talented artists of the night to some serious love. In a jaw-dropping move, Ambassador Eddy Branson, one of the event’s guests, gifted US$5,000 to each of the performers—Kinna, Bazooker, Silent Skiller, and Khonangale.
The gesture was above and beyond their performance fees, leaving the musicians beaming with pride and excitement.
Branson, clearly impressed by the raw talent on display, couldn’t help but reward the artists for their high-energy performances, cementing his status as a true supporter of the local scene.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Boss Paradza, another VIP at the event, also joined the generosity train, promising a further US$5,000 to be shared among the young talents. Talk about a night to remember!
The Swan Launch event had something for everyone, much like the brand’s wide range of cigarette flavors. From the vibrant crowd to the drinks flowing freely and the performances that kept the energy soaring, it was a night where every moment seemed to peak.
Female rapper Nisha T kicked things off with an unforgettable performance, engaging the audience with her unmatched energy and raw talent.
Then, her label mate, Saintfloew, brought the heat with one of his best performances yet, rocking a bold red outfit and giving the crowd more than they could handle.
The energy only continued to build as Silent Skiller and Master H hit the stage, adding his signature fire to the mix. But it was Winky D, backed by the legendary Vigilance Band, who stole the show. As the crowd went wild, the night reached its peak when Winky D delivered a high-octane performance, solidifying his place as the king of Zim dancehall.
Alick Macheso and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo also graced the stage, while the ChillSpot Family brought their signature vibes to the event, ensuring the night stayed lit from start to finish.
With performances this electric and surprises this big, it’s clear that Swan cigarettes is making a serious play to challenge the likes of Madison and other established brands in the market.
