Strict anti-Covid-19 response protocols at Zim Agric Show 2021

The 111^th edition of Zimbabwe Agricultural Show will this year be held from 27 September to 1 October 2021 with exhibitors required to have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or produce coronavirus certificate from a test taken no later than 48 hours before the start of the show.

Announcing the dates for this year’s Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, Andrew Matibiri the chief executive, said contact less body temperature checks will be conducted on all entrants at every gate into the park.

“During the show there will be booths outside the park where visitors can get a free test for Covid-19, while inside the park there will also be booths where free vaccinations against Covid-19 will be available.

“All gates into the park will be equipped with walk-in sanitizer booths. All entrants will be required to strictly adhere to anti-Covid-19 protocols, specifically;

“To wear face masks in such a way that the mouth and nose are fully covered. To maintain one metre social distancing, and to frequently wash hands with soap and sanitize frequently,” he said.

“Walk-in sanitization booths will be places at every hall entrance and other strategic locations in the show.

“The numbers of people allowed into each hall will be monitored and controlled to ensure compliance with recommended maximum crowd sizes.

“The park grounds, roads and halls will be disinfected before the start of the show. Thereafter all roads and exhibition halls will be disinfected after close of business.

He said drone surveillance will be used to monitor and managed the crowds to ensure strict adherence to the Ministry of Health and WHO guidelines while motor vehicle movement will not be allowed in the park during the show.

The official opening will be held on 30 September 2021 and this year’s theme is: Synergies for Growth —- Cooperate, Collaborate. Complement.” To rally support for the cause of agricultural and attendant value for increased “Production Productivity and Profitability”. And the sub-theme “Celebrating Unprecedented Growth.”
