CAPTION STORY: SOUTH AFRICA’S soapie actress — Sophie Ndada — who has Zimbabwean roots had a blast last weekend when she turned out at the Cotton Club. Accompanied by her friends the Queen as she is popularly known on the screen for her role in South Africa’s longest running soap Generations, made her presence at the club after Babongile Skhonjwa invited her to the DJ box. Sophie Ndada then greeted fans with her trademark chant: “Hello Darling” much to the delight of the club goers. She also met with her Zimbabwean celebrities including Themba Mkanda who was in the city for the OK Grand Challenge. The two exchanged notes while other fans took selfies with the Queen. Apparently, Queen was in Bulawayo for business breakfast meeting. She took time to narrate her upbringing in Zimbabwe where she herded cattle at a farm in Harare before moving to a children’s home. She was later adopted by a foster family and enrolled at Roosevelt Girls High. She told the gathering that she fell pregnant at 16 years old to her “foster brother”.
