Talented singer/composer/songwriter Sarungano has released his fourth studio album simply titled Unity.
The album produced by several producers the likes of Makumbe Productions, United States-based Jonathan Mgazi, Prosper Mashipe, Mono Mukundu and Chiweddar as is as diverse as it comes.
The 28-year-old Sarungano displays a great deal of growth in musicality and depth.
He did not leave anything to chance combining all the elements that make a Zimbabwean sound so vibrant and distinct.
And also his vocals have matured over time right from his debut Mbuya Ndoenda in 2017 to Mafuta in 2019 and Nevanji The Prince in 2022.
What makes this latest release special is his clarity and intent to become his own man.
Having been tutored by Zimbabwe’s own superstar and national hero Oliver Mtukudzi, there are some elements which bring fond memeories of Tuku Music.
For example, if you listen to one of the favourites Marambadoro, Sarungano is clealy on point and that acoustic guitar at the beginning bring the fond memories of Tuku days.
That said, the vocals on the album are amazing and well put together to give that solid feel of music.
The messages on the album as also diverse as the producers themselves.
Sarungano sings some traditional songs and in others he goes gospel to life in general. If there is anything that will take Sarungano far it has to be his determination and enthusiasm about his music career. It is easy to see his intent and clarity on being the nest BIG thing in Zimbabwe.
Tracks worth listening to include Wako ndeWako, Nzizi, Dare reNgwere and Munotinyepera.
