Gweru-based real estate giant, River Valley Properties (Pvt) Ltd, led by the dynamic business duo, Engineer Dr Mncedisi Dube and Professor Dr Smelly Dube, has added another feather to its cap by being named one of the top 100 Emerging Global Businesses for 2025.

The prestigious award was presented at an exclusive ceremony held at the UK House of Lords on Friday.

This recognition solidifies River Valley Properties‘ position as a frontrunner in shaping the future of global business, with organisers hailing the company as part of a select group of enterprises that are revolutionizing industries worldwide.

“These companies represent the cutting edge of industry transformation,” said the organisers, acknowledging River Valley for its groundbreaking technologies and strategies that are driving exceptional growth and sustainability.

The event, a first-of-its-kind, provided an unparalleled platform for influential business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors to network and collaborate, creating new opportunities for growth and partnerships.

River Valley Properties gained significant visibility, engaging with over 200 leading global companies open to potential collaborations aimed at propelling the business forward.

Upon receiving the award, Professor Smelly Dube expressed deep appreciation, stating, “This recognition is accepted with utmost humility and great appreciation. We are inspired to do more for our country and humanity.

“We continue to be motivated by President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030. Zimbabwe is indeed open for business for both foreign and domestic investors.”

The event also saw the participation of high-level political and business leaders, with Zimbabwe represented by Finance Minister, Hon. Prof. Mthuli Ncube, and ZANU PF Spokesperson and International Business Consultant, Hon. Amb. Chris Mutsvangwa.

River Valley Properties, headquartered in Gweru, has established itself as a leader in private land development, mining (through its subsidiary Tebekwe Mine), retail, and security sectors. With over a decade of experience in real estate, the company has successfully completed numerous housing projects across Gweru, Shurugwi, Zvishavane, and Bulawayo.

This international recognition is not the first for River Valley Properties. Last December, both Prof Smelly Dube and Engineer Dr Mncedisi Dube were celebrated at the African Caribbean Sustainability and Investment Summit (ACSIS UK 2024) as part of the Top 100 Most Influential Global Voices.

Additionally, Prof. Dube was honored with the Hall of Fame Woman of the Year 2024 Global Excellence Award at the Leaders Without Borders Economic Development Summit in the UK.

River Valley Properties is also known for its philanthropic efforts, particularly in improving the lives of Zimbabweans through sustainable agriculture and community development.

Through ventures like Hychania Farm, the company is actively contributing to food security and rural empowerment.

With its diverse range of subsidiaries, including Matovu Investments and River Valley Motor Spares, River Valley Properties has firmly established itself as a pillar of Zimbabwe’s growing business landscape, while continuing its core mission of providing affordable, quality housing.
