She didn’t do it for the spotlight. She never asked for applause. But sometimes, the world notices a quiet heart at work.
Enisia Mashusha—known fondly as Mambokadzi—has spent years planting seeds of hope in the United Kingdom, far from her Zimbabwean roots.
An author, actress, and philanthropist, she now finds herself in an unexpected moment of recognition: nominated for the Goodnews For Life Global Awards 2026 in the category of Community Leader of the Year.
The awards ceremony will take place on 22 August 2026, and for Enisia, the news still feels surreal.
“Sometimes we do things quietly, never expecting recognition—simply from a place of love, community, and humanity,” she shared in a heartfelt Facebook post that has since drawn warm responses from friends, collaborators, and strangers alike.
Her journey hasn’t been about grand titles or glossy campaigns. Instead, it’s been rooted in the everyday, sacred work of bringing people together.
From organising the Journey to Wellness event to spending time with the elderly, leading community walks, supporting youths, and now building The Village, Kumusha—her hands have been busy stitching a fabric of connection, wellbeing, and Ubuntu.
“This nomination is not just about me,” she said.
