CAPTION STORY: Coca-Cola’s Women’s LINC Zimbabwe Chapter recently handed over a fully furnished block of four classrooms and a modern office to Cheuchi Primary School, a satellite-rural school in Makonde district, Mashonaland West which cost US$80 000 to build.
Patricia Murambinda, Coca-Cola Women’s LINC Zimbabwe Chapter President and General Manager, Corporate Affairs at Delta Beverages said the commissioning of the classroom block was a fulfilment of a pledge they made in 2016 when they assisted the school with foodstuffs at a time when the country was facing food shortages caused by the El Nino induced drought.
Before the establishment of the school, learners had to go to Eastrange Primary School which is 9km away however, the government chipped in by deploying qualified teachers to the school.
Delta Corporation chairman Mr Canaan Dube, who was also a guest pledged to drill a borehole and provide books amounting to USD10 000 at Cheuchi Primary School.
The school which opened doors in 2016 has an enrollment of 327 pupils with girls being 160 and 167 boys.
