Shepherds Foundation is set to unveil its highly anticipated virtual gallery, ‘Lens and Reality,’ along with its debut exhibition, Nhoroondo Dzematambidzanwa (Shared Histories), in Harare.
The event will kick off with a soft opening on Thursday, 20th February 2025, at Alliance Française de Harare at 5:30 p.m.
The exhibition celebrates the dynamic and evolving landscape of Zimbabwean photojournalism, spotlighting the work of both emerging photographers and established names who have shaped the country’s post-independence narrative.
Through their lenses, these photographers have captured the daily struggles, victories, and untold stories of Zimbabwe, offering a powerful visual account of the nation’s resilient spirit.
Nhoroondo Dzematambidzanwa features a rich diversity of photographic styles and techniques, weaving a complex tapestry that spans Zimbabwe’s history while providing a vibrant look into the present.
This exhibition explores the role of photography not only as a historical document but also as a medium for artistic expression and societal change, highlighting the voices of the marginalized and deepening our understanding of the human condition.

A community event in Mbare will provide local audiences an opportunity to experience the exhibition, while another session will take place at Alliance Française de Harare, ensuring the exhibition’s impact reaches beyond the digital realm.
