By Jonathan Mbiriyamveka

Munich Harare Arts Gathering, celebrates 25th anniversary of twinning through a feast of cultural activities beginning on September 3 to 5, 2021.

A total of 17 performing artists will take to the stage in separate prerecorded concerts which will be streamed live on MUHAG YouTube Channel https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kXQ3InX6BRA as well as Facebook pages.

Organised by Vengai Katogodo from Zimbabwe and Jochen Kraus from Germany, the project is funded by City of Munich’s Department of Arts and Culture.

Blessing Chimanga coordinated the project from Harare while Antony Samakande was the administrator.

Katogodo said the City of Harare and Munich twined in April 1, 1996 with the aim of strengthening partnership in all areas of interest including business, health, water sanitation and infrastructure amongst others.

“Munich was looking for a partner and during that time Harare and Cairo were competitive.

“However, Munich and Harare emerged as partners. We have been partnering in other areas except the arts. So this time we have put together MUHAG specifically for artists to exchange ideas,” he said.
