CAPTION STORY: RARELY do Zimbabwean musicians recognize each other in public but not for Minister Michael Mahendere who was literally star-struck after his dream date with legendary singer Lovemore Majaivana who is based in the United States. The two had a chance meeting while Minister Mahendere was ministering in Dallas Texas this week. Minister Mahendere took to his Facebook and posted of him and the Umoya Wami hitmaker shaking hands. “It was awesome meeting with the Legend Baba Lovemore Majaivana in Dallas on Sunday.
“He came to fellowship with us, I was ministering in both word and music. I must say I admire the grace on him of doing music that does not expire. It was awesome at Harvest International Church Dallas” he captioned the picture. There have been concerted efforts to have Majaivana return home for a once-off gig to no avail. Perhaps MaGee as he was known on stage has given his life to Christ and is no longer into secular music. Reports abound that the Salanini Zinini star has a lot of misgivings about Zimbabwean showbiz so much that he no longer wants to be associated with his past glory especially that he has settled well in the US.
