Michael Lannas’ new album African Soul not for sale to public

Legendary musician Michael Lannas’ new album African Soul is out and here but sadly it is not for sale to general public.

According to Lannas the album will only be availed to his loyal fans and a few selected people from his inner circle.

“The album is not for sale in fact it is only for a few selected people who love my music.

“This is like a trend in developed countries where the album copies of albums can be inserted in newspapers for free so that you come to the show and see live performances,” Lannas said.

The album features some of the talented artists in Zimbabwe the likes of Kelly Rusike on bass/vocals and Cole Rusike on drums.

The baritone voiced Lannas said the new project is a collection for the mature at heart and sound.

He is ably backed on the album by the group Talking Drum.

The album features some feel good music, just the way fans have come to know and love the Talking Drum sound.

His musical experience overseas also brings some rich versatility to his new album.

At the same time, he is also determined to nurture young artistes realise their fullest potential in the industry.

On African Soul, Lannas was largely inspired by the Zimbabwean music and its people. And by titling the album African Soul, the music will take you east, west, south and north of Africa in one god listen.

Its slow sensual sound and luscious beats provide the perfect backdrop for a troubled nation like Zimbabwe, hard-hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The artist is unapologetic about the album’s content.

Added to this, the music is for the mature at heart those from the old school when music, as they say, was still music.
