Wednesday, October 16, 2024, will forever have a special place in Zimbabwe’s Loyal Reggae followers after the much-anticipated dream of having Winston Rodney coming into the Country for a one off Special Live performance eventually came true with the 79-year-old Reggae Music giant finding himself landing at the Robert Mugabe International Airport ahead of his 18th of October Show penciled for the Glamis Arena in the Capital, Harare.
Travelling with his full band and of course accompanied by their Tour Manager, Marcey Elliot and Show manager Paul Scott, Burning Spear expressed his gratitude upon being received with love and amazing support from Zimbabweans who made their way to the giant Airport to welcome the Christopher Columbus hit maker.

For long speculation had gone viral in regard to his coming to the land of honey and milk, but it took the zeal, determination and courage of people like ZBC Classic263 Station Manager who also happens to be The Reggae Talk Executive Producer, Terrence Mapurisana a.k.a The Reggae General, Hotstepper; who kept pushing for some live Radio interviews with the Burning Spear direct from his base in Kingston, Jamaica, checking on his availability to tour Zimbabwe and other parts of Africa.
Mapurisana would not tire to keep persisting and updating Burning Spear on how Reggae lovers in Zimbabwe were anxiously waiting for his coming.
Reggae Talk is the most listened to programme across Africa and beyond its borders, being hosted by the man himself, Terrence Mapurisana, each and every Sunday on ZBC Classic263 at 12pm Central African Time.
Even Winston Rodney himself, endorsed the programme as a unifier since it touches on Black Pride, Black History and Black Consciousness.
As the multitudes wait for the One People Africa Tour in Harare on Friday the 18th of October, 2024, special tribute goes to Zimbabwe’s unsung Reggae Ambassador, Terrence “The Hotstepper” Mapurisana, the entire ZBC Classic263 Radio staff and its loyal Reggae listeners in and outside the country.
The Spear has now finally landed in Zimbabwe!
