Silverstone DJ — Mad Minnox — Thursday made a grand touch down in Mbare his home where he showered fans with US dollars including ChillSport hypeman —DJ Fantan.
The Canada-based Mad Minnox who had a fanny pack across his chest stashed with wads of US dollars randomly gifted fans outside ChillSpot Records where DJ Fantan had to cancel a scheduled recording session for Ricky Fire and Lady B.
The two artists also got a share of the money after Mad Minnox gave US$20 each including DJ Fantan and Levels who were all smiles.
The seemingly overwhelmed Mad Minnox announced that he was happy to be allowed to visit the United Kingdom after several years.
“I was denied a visa sometime so now I am allowed to go to the UK,” he said while chugging his drink.
Mad Minnox who was described by DJ Fantan as bigman was one of the pioneering DJs during formative years of reggae-dancehall in Zimbabwe.
As a DJ with one of the popular sound systems — Silverstone International, Mad Minnox was the pride of Mbare after he lived a life of a celebrity from Mbare to Canada in Toronto where he is now based.
So inspirational to many ghetto youths who regard him as the doyen of regge-dancehall in the country along his contemporaries.
