Sungura man of song Alick Macheso will headline this year’s edition of Chibuku Road to Fame that also features a stellar line up of Zim dancehall artists the likes of Jah Master, Tocky Vibes, Ndunge Yut, Pumacol, Bazooker.
The Chibuku Road to Fame national finals will also the likes of Grade 2 Band and Chillspot Family comprising Dj Fantan, Levels and Ribhe on the ones and twos.
Also performing is the crowd favourite — Feli Nandi — whose career is growing in leaps and bounds.
The Chibuku Road to Fame is scheduled for 14 October at Takashinga Cricket Club in Highfield starting at 10am.
This means there is going to be entertainment galore as the performing artists take to the stage from start to finish.
There are 10 groups that will be participating representing Zimbabwe’s 10 provinces.
And like previous editions, stakes are high this year with winners getting $15,000 for the first prize, $10,000 for second prize and $7,000 for third prize.
Organized by Delta Beverages in conjunction with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe wo identify and nurture artists, the longest running talent search show has seen previous winners the likes of Romeo Gasa, Progress Chipfumo and Mark Ngwazi making names for themselves.
The music talent identification platform allows up-coming artists to step into stardom as they begin their musical journey.
DELTA CORPORATION, Marketing Director, Irimayi Muzorewa told the press earlier those contestants stand a chance to win a variety of monetary prizes at both provincial and national level, including a recording contract for the national final winner.
As in previous editions, Chibuku Road to Fame brings together upcoming musicians and seasoned musicians on stage at the national finals.
Scores of chibuku and music lovers throng the national finals for a day out filled with lots of exciting entertainment and drinks.
It appears 2023 is no exception and make a date at Chibuku Road to Fame.
