Karoi-Karoi United Football Club has officially appealed against the ruling of the disciplinary committee regarding their recently abandoned match against Scotland FC, a decision that has ignited a wave of disappointment and frustration within the club and its fanbase.
In a statement released by Secretary General Pirimukai Zisheche, the club expressed profound dissatisfaction with the committee’s decision, which not only awarded Scotland FC three points but also imposed a fine of USD 1,500 on Karoi United.
The statement criticized the committee for allegedly ignoring the club’s defense and misrepresenting the circumstances surrounding the match.
“It is with great disappointment that we share the outcome of the disciplinary committee’s judgement,” the statement read. “The committee has disregarded our account of the events, as well as the key points of our mitigation. As a result, Scotland FC has been awarded three points, and Karoi United has been fined USD 1,500.”
This ruling has sent shockwaves through the Karoi United community, igniting frustration among players, staff, and supporters alike.
Many believe that the judgment is not only unjust but also dismissive of the substantial evidence and precedents presented by Karoi United in support of their case.
As the situation unfolds, speculation abounds regarding the club’s next steps. Sources close to Karoi United indicate that an appeal may be filed with the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) in an attempt to challenge the disciplinary committee’s decision.
“The club has strong grounds for an appeal, given the lack of consideration for precedents that favor a more balanced outcome,” said a source. “Karoi United has every right to seek justice, especially given the political undertones many feel have influenced this decision.”
In light of the turmoil, Karoi United has called upon its supporters to remain calm and united during this challenging period.
The club reassured fans that they are committed to pursuing a fair and transparent process in addressing the ruling.
For now, the Karoi United family stands together in hope, awaiting further developments regarding their appeal, which could potentially lead to a reassessment of the disciplinary committee’s decision.
The outcome of this situation remains uncertain, but the resolve of the club and its supporters is clear: they will not back down in their pursuit of justice.
