CAPTION STORY: Elections in Warren Park and Westlea have been frustrating if not chaotic after voters left without casting their votes as at 5pm on Wednesday. This is despite assurances by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission that all was in order and that voting would be extended accordingly.
The polling stations in Westlea and Warren Park were still closed for business at 5pm since there were no ballot papers for presidential, parliamentary and council seats.
“Westlea and Warren Park ballot papers haven’t arrived yet. No one knows why? Election officials have no explanation, they are dosing actually. Most people returned home,” a voter confirmed.
What is startling is that ZEC headquarters are less than 20 km from Warren Park and there was court case that could have delayed printing of the papers.
