Talented South African singer and performer Josh Ansley will curtain raise for UB40 featuring Ali Campbell on 25 May 2023.
The concert is scheduled for Old Hararians Sports Club starting at 4pm.
Ansley announced via his Facebook page saying he will be the opening act at a concert that also features the talents of local guitarist Sylent Nqo.
“The 25th of May 2023 in Harare Zimbabwe I’ll be opening for UB40 featuring Ali Campbell. See poster for tickets details,” Ansley wrote.
For those not in the know, Ansley started off his professional career on stage at Reps Theatre in Harare.
It is there that Ansley’s artistic journey started starring in many musicals before heading to Los Angeles in the United States to take up his career further.
Ansley attended Lomagundi High School in Chinhoyi where he was popular for playing the role of Kenicke in the rendition of the popular 1978 American musical comedy “Grease” – made a name for himself in South Africa’s “The Voice SA Season 2” blind auditions when he did a rendition of AC/ DC’s classic ballad, “Shook Me All Night Long”. He got four turns and incredibly high praise from the panel of coaches.
Local fans of the famous English reggae and pop band, UB40 are set for a treat when the group makes a return to Zimbabwe 41 years after its maiden performance in the country in 1982.
The nine-piece band, which was in the country about two years after Zimbabwe gained its independence, confirmed their second coming on Africa Day.
Ali Campbell also via promo videos has been upbeat about the concert promised much love to his fans.
