JamAfro Festival: Makhadzi excited about Harare gig!

South African singer Makhadzi says she is excited about her Harare tour where she is headlining the JamAfro Festival scheduled for Alexandra Sports Club on April 2.

In a video doing the rounds on social media, Makhadzi confirmed she will be a host of other acts performing at the star-studded festival.

“Hello, hello everyone this is Makhadzi please catch me live at JamAfro Festival Zimbabwe on April 2,” she said before he sang one of her popular songs called Ganama.

Makhadzi once performed at a private birthday party leaving out most of her fans, however, this time she stages a public show.

Known for a high energy performances on stage, Makhadzi will share the stage with a host of other Zimbabwean heavy hitters among them South Africa-based Zimbabwean star Mr Brown, Freeman, Nutty O, Suluman Chimbetu, Neelah, ExQ, Feli Nandi and Juntal.

The must-attend festival will be hosted by Etherton Beenie, comedienne Mai TT and Bango.

Added to this will be DJS on decks the likes of Pee Stylez, Eve, Tearz, Jerry Springer, Digital T, Westwood as well as Selekta Base.

The festival also brings together a mixed bag in terms of entertainment and performances.

However, there is great anticipation from fans to see Makhadzi for the first time in the capita.

Born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, Makhadzi, was born and raised in Ha-Mashamba, Limpopo, she is best known for her songs Tshanda Vhuya, Tshikwama and “Matorokisi”.

Makhadzi’s 2020 album Kokovha became one of her biggest successes and debuted at number one on the South African iTunes albums charts.

It contained the chart-topping singles Amadoda, Mphemphe, Kokovha and Tshikwama.

Makhadzi’s career started at the age of 12, used to perform at Taxi ranks, getting money from people’s offerings.

In 2019, Makhadzi was featured by Master KG on a song titled Tshikwama, released off the album Jerusalema.

In October 2020, Makhadzi studio album Kokovha (lit. crawl) was released in South Africa.
