Zimbabwean musician — Jah Prayzah — is the most subscribed to artist on YouTube in Southern Africa ahead of firm favourites the likes of Mafikizolo, AKA, Cassper Nyovest and Winky D to name but a few.

With the exception of Nasty C whi sits on 613K subs and Master KG whose Open Mic productions features many other talents has amassed 1.31 million subscribers this is because as an individual the “Wanitwa mosi” singer has no separate account. So on Open Mic its combined subscriptions from the likes of Zanda Zakuza, Nomcebo and others he collaborated with.

Cassper Nyovest as of today has 143K subs, AKA has 164K subs, DJ Maphorisa has 189K subs, Mafikizolo have 197K subs.

The Military Touch Movement owner who is trending at #1 in Zimbabwe with Porovhoka, a club banger, leads with a whooping 333K subs ahead of his rival Winky D with 108K subs and Janet Manyowa at 34.2K subs.

Note well, the number of subscribers does not necessarily translate to views on YouTube.

The celebrated artist is showing no signs of slowing down as this year alone she released over five videos off his 2020 album — Hokoyo.

Jah Prayzah whose real name is Mukudzei Mukombe’s Hokoyo album launch was glitched due to the start of Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020.

However, the musician decided to go ahead with release dropping visuals to Mwana Wamambo, Mukwasha and Porovhoka among others online, much to the delight of his fans.

Initially, Hokoyo was not well received by fans until Jah Prayzah decided to drop the visuals and all of a sudden fans had a change of heart.

That gave am impetus to his growing status as a Zimbabwean superstar despite the lockdown and absence of live shows.

The number of subscriptions for Jah Prayzah could also show how much influence he commands not just in Zimbabwe but in the region and beyond. The one good thing about Jah Prayzah, is that he has cast his net far and wide collaborating with as many big artists as possible from Davido, Diamond Platnumz to Yemi Alade, Patoranking to Zahara among others.
