Helen Maghie Primary School today won top prize Zimbabwe Agricultural Show- WEZ Schools Quiz ahead of CZM in second position as well as Dudley Hall Primary which came third.
The quiz which was conducted at the Andy Miller so several primary schools taking part.
The initiative is through a partnership between ZAS and ZB Financial Holdings as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
“We have partnered ZAS in this initiative for over 7 years now. This initiative brings together schools from all 10 provinces in Zimbabwe. We use the platform to cement/ build our relationships with participating schools. As you already aware we are big on schools.
“We also use the same platform as a CSR initiative to provide financial literacy and promote environmental education,” ZBFH Executive Head Marketing Cynthia Muzira said.
“This year our main thrust is on digital as reflected by the prizes we are giving to the winners. We have gone tech.
“ZAS- WEZ Schools Quiz- we have sponsored US $4,000. 30 schools will be participating with 3 schools from each of the 10 provinces. We use this platform to cement relationships/ build with participating schools, teachers and headmasters. It is also part of a CSR initiative to provide financial literacy and promote environmental education besides the school quiz we are also focused on other sectors – SMEs, traders, farmers and we have planned events for them that is our workshops that we will be hosting on 30 and 31 August. We also have a financial literacy drive, we are setting them up for success through financial workshops.”
