Rooftop Promotions will be hosting the musical Afro acoustics band Gwevedzi this Friday 28 of October 2022 at Theatre in the Park.
The concert will run from 6pm until 9pm and the admission is only $5.
Organizers also say that there will be a full bar and catering services at the venue.
Spokesperson for the band Gladmore Bvuta, confirmed the band was prepared to entertain the public on Friday.
Rooftop Promotions producer Daves Guzha says that they are so excited and ready to host the band.
A fan, Patience Muronzi expressed her enthusiasm and said she cannot wait for Gwevedzi experience this week.
Merely known as Gwevedzi, the band was formerly known as Gwevedzi Afro Acoustics Band and was formed in 2016 in Harare.
The quest of the band is to also harmonize the people of the world through music.
Gwevedzi is a Shona name given to a suitor in a courtship between a young lady and a young man to strengthen the love between the two.
It consists of four members; Tinashe Masangudza guitar, Wilfred Nikisi bass, Nyasha Murada lead vocals/mbira, and Keith Musena on the drums.
They have performed at the same venue for more than 3 times since October 2021. Meanwhile, the group has done a couple of live shows locally in Mutare, Victoria Falls, Harare and Kwekwe.
Other performances include the recent Jacaranda Music Festival, earGROUND`s Amplifaya Festival among others.
Gwevedzi has a regional experience, having performed in South Africa and Mozambique.
Theatre in the Park has hosted a variety of events both local and regional including music, theatre, cinema, dance among others.
Meanwhile, the venue is set to host a series of theatre plays commencing this coming month (November) from the 2nd opening with the works of Zenzo Nyathi titled `An Act of Man` directed by Memory Kumbota.
Tickets are also available at the Theatre in the Park offices from 9am to 5pm.
