Harare—The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training has issued a scam alert, warning the public about a fraudulent online application circulating on social media, falsely advertising the Zimbabwe Youth Empowerment Cash Grant 2025.
In an official statement, Secretary Solomon Mhlanga clarified that the Ministry is not accepting applications for any such program and has not partnered with any organization to distribute cash grants.
The fraudulent link, set up by impersonators, is reportedly deceiving people into providing personal details and losing money.
“The Ministry wishes to clarify that the online application itself is fake and the Ministry is not running anything of that sort,” Mhlanga stated.
“We have not partnered with any stakeholder, and this platform has been created by scammers to swindle innocent people of their hard-earned money.”
The Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme, officially launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on March 20, 2025, has not yet opened for applications.
The Ministry assured the public that any legitimate information regarding the scheme will be announced through mainstream media and official government social media platforms.
Citizens are urged to exercise caution and report any suspicious links or messages to authorities. The Ministry reiterated its commitment to youth empowerment but warned against falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
