EXCLUSIVE: Vimbai Zimuto weds South Africa’s Afro-soul star Donald?

By Jonathan Mbiriyamveka

Zimbabwe’s sultry singer Vimbai Zimuto on Thursday wedded her South African lover Donald Moatshe at a private ceremony held in Harare.

The Netherlands-based singer tied the knot with the I Deserve star among a few of her close friends and family as well as Donald’s confidante.

It is unclear why Vimbai chose to put a lid on her wedding knowing that she usually teases fans with images and visuals before dropping her videos on social media.

Gem Nation News understands that both Donald and Vimbai flew in Harare early this week ahead of the “wedding”.

Contacted for comment, Vimbai could neither confirm nor deny the wedding as well whether or not it was another video shoot.

She even blue ticked the questions sent to her on WhatsApp something which is unlike her.

Of late, Vimbai has been seen in and out of South Africa where she posted her pictures winning and dinning.

And one of her visits was partly because she was shooting a video for Handigone starring screen actor — Leroy Gopal — who featured in Zimbabwe’s blockbuster — Yellow Card as Tiane.

The “Kupakichwa” hitmaker said she hooked up with Gopal at last year’s National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) and fell in love with his work.

“I was watching the NAMA show at home as I couldn’t attend. I was captured by Gopal’s dance routines, charisma and surprisingly he mentioned my name at the show when he was talking about dressing for the event. He jokingly said, ‘Let us leave the nudity to Vimbai Zimuto.’ I laughed. I then said this was the right guy for my next video and I immediately contacted him. Days later, we met for the first time at the airport and had proper communications.”

On the other hand, Donald Moatshe is a South African Afro-soul singer, songwriter, recording artist and entertainer, originally from the town of Rustenburg, in the North-West province.

The Afro-soul singer rose to acclaim after the release of his single, I Deserve, in 2011.

His first album the Train of Love, cemented his name on the South Africca wall of fame.

The singer describes himself as an optimistic individual who always tries to find something positive even in a dire situation.
