ZIM dancehall sinjay, Dobba Don, who has been struggling with drug addiction is now a destitute.
If not checked into rehab, Dobba Don could soon be another lost cause considering that many youths who got hooked on drugs commonly known as Mutoriro or Dombo in street lingo, never made it back.
A studio owner told H Metro that the Mudendere hitmaker was now homeless after his drug addiction relapsed.
Boss Bingu, who owns a studio in Mufakose, said Dobba Don was sleeping in small studios.
“He is high, most of the time, on drugs. As you can see on this picture, he has been deserted by his crew. “Maybe, there are also some spiritual forces behind his suffering because the situation is now worse,” he said.
Boss Bingu insists the chanter needs help before it gets out of hand.
“He was so promising. It’s heart-breaking to see him in this deplorable state.
“I have even been trying to encourage those who run Dobba Don’s parody accounts to tell the truth rather than posting his old nice pictures as if it’s well,” said Boss Bingu.
Dobba Don rose to fame with his popular hit song Mudendere, a song which remotely praised the use of substance or drugs.
He also followed the song with Mukuru, another song which also glorifies the abuse of drugs and substance.
Previous efforts by music promoter Robert Zhuwao aka Robert Zee to get Dobba Don back on track were all in vain and his last album did not meet expectations of fans.
He has been on and off drugs for the last two years and sadly he has deteriorated health-wise and musically because of the abuse of substance.
