Do you want more: Burning Spear leaves fans wanting more!

Roots-reggae legend — Burning Spear — illuminated Glamis Arena last Friday with a standout performance that gave fans more than they had bargained for!

The 79-year-old kept fans skanking while he beat the congas like he was in his youthful days, it was so effortless and well executed.

Burning Spear working the stage

Donning a sleeveless jacket with Jamaican flag and matching blue jeans and T shirt, Burning Spear born Winston Godfrey Rodney put up one of the best performances so far this year in Harare.

The lights, the stage and most importantly the sound made the concert all the more inspiring.

Zimbabwean music lovers hadn’t heard perfect sound in a long time and The One Love One People Tour was the perfect antidote.

Surprisingly it was the same PA system that is usually hired out to locals but still they cannot get their sound as perfect as Burning Spear’s sound engineer.

Even those who were far from the stage could pick every ditty, every conga, every guitar twing twang note for note.

The one thing we also learnt and admired about Burning Spear Concert was his crowd control he came to perform and he gave fans a show. He didn’t waste time to come on stage and when it was time to leave, he did just that.

“Burning Spear and the Burning Band, talk to me if you want more, are you sure you want more?” he asked to which the crowd responded with a wild Yes.

“Let me know shout it out like you never shouted.”

Sadly, this was the end of his performance but then the fans had not had enough of his groovy music.

By that time many wished Burning Spear could continue until wee hours! Local acts Silent Killer also hit the stage sending fans into a frenzy while earlier Feli Nandi and Mannex made their presence felt.
