Zim dancehall sensation — Seh Calaz — says people should celebrate their music stars while they are alive.
The Kwatinobva Kure singer took to his Facebook and vented the harsh realities of being a celebrity.
“Don’t wait to post me on your page for likes and Comments when I am dead ,yet you never posted any of my work or my birthday to appreciate me,” he said.
“Off cameras we cry, we break down and we lose it sometimes. It becomes very lonely, because of what other people made you go through. You suspect everyone and trust very few, making life very difficult to live a double life. If you have a chance of staying anywhere around one super star, please SUPPORT THEM. Kindly understand that creatives are not Normal people. That’s why they are unique and not everyone has that ex-factor.”
Calaz whose claim to fame was his battle with arch rival late chanter Soul Jah Love during Sting also took a swipe at bloggers.
“I have learned to take bloggers as serious supporters, because they watch your life closely, they don’t sleep, they work twice hard to bring down what took you years to build. If you worked 20 years, bloggers need 40 years to break it. I love the fact that all bloggers are depending on our lives otherwise they have nothing to talk about themselves.
“As a STAR never fear a blogger. Never pay a blogger. Never lose sleep over a blogger, they are not your enemies, they need your fame, they chasing clouts, they need your content for relevance.”
It was unclear what triggered Seh Calaz to hurl abuse at bloggers when in fact he has benefitted from the publicity over the years.
He, however, he indicated that Zimbabwean celebrities lived a double faced life due to inadequacies.
“Trust me, there is no one who needs support like a star, there is no one person who is as vulnerable like a public figure. Sometimes we don’t ask for too much but just a hug,” he said.
