The curtain came down on 11th edition of the Let Them Trust Annual Schools Festival over the weekend where Takura Secondary school emerged overall winner in dance category.
Highlights at the festival were performances by 16 participating schools that thronged Let Them Trust Village in Sabuku Gutsa’s Village, Domboshava.
Held under the theme: Njabulo, Mufaro, the categories included drama, poetry, visual art and fashion.
Other highlights included music where children paid tribute to Zim dancehall artists Souljah Love.
Organized by Let Them Trust, the festival is a cultural and creative institution that creates platforms for young people to experience and express their culture artistically.
The annual school festival is the flagship program for LTT which is known to be a competitive platform for schools to showcase their talent in various genres.
In attendance were Chief Murape and Village Head Chibanda and Sabuku Gutsa as special guests and junior member of parliament Dexter Samanyika.
Voice to Rep launched their album, “Intetho Hurukuro” which has 12 songs from 11 socially conscious young artists.
Ammara Brown and Juntal were the headlining acts and the two performed their collaboration much to the delight of the audience.
Besides the performances, participating schools enjoyed scenic views of the Domboshava venue and also experienced the cultural process of welcoming a chief to grace the event.
They also got to scribble their thoughts on the moving mural done by the Caligraph for the festival.

Best Musician – Lesley Mahambu, Chogugudza Primary School
Best Theatre Group – Mufakose 4 High
Best Female Actress Masvingo Christian College, Natenive Dzaramaba
Best Actor – Mike Mufakose 4 High
Best Promising Actor – Tanaka Warren Park High
Best Female Poet – Blessing Magaya from Kuwadzana 2 High
Best Male Poet – Isheanesu Atukwa Churchill Boys High
Best mbira act Mabelreign Girls High
Best solo act Philip Marizano Parirewa High School
