Controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has strongly denied accusations circulating on social media that he requested increases to the monthly withdrawal limits for accounts purportedly linked to his companies, IMC Communications and Eden Breeze.
He categorically rejects the forged documents and calls them a smear campaign orchestrated by political opponents.
In Zimbabwe, a company cannot withdraw more than US$10000 per day let alone US$20million which Chivayo is alleged to have requested from his bank — EcoBank.
Chivayo suggests these individuals, driven by jealousy and political motives, are attempting to damage his personal and business reputation after he recently met with foreign Heads of State.
Chivayo claims that a female “advocate” from the opposition party illegally obtained his signature from past affidavits, forging letters to create a scandal.
He stresses that such acts of forgery are both unethical and criminal, and he reserves the right to take legal action against those involved.
He refutes the exaggerated amounts mentioned in the forgeries, noting that they exceed his financial capacity and questioning why anyone would need such large sums in an era of digital payments.
He also reaffirms his unwavering support for President E.D. Mnangagwa and the ZANU PF party, asserting that his success stems from hard work and business acumen rather than political corruption.
“This can however only be explained by the hatred which emanates from the choices I made when I exercised my CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to support a political party and PRESIDENT of my choice. I will always support PRESIDENT E.D MNANGAGWA and ZANU PF’s vision and NO INDIVIDUAL from any planet, no matter how BIG or SMALL, can instill any fear in me to decide otherwise. I will neither be MOVED by nor SHAKEN by any veiled threats from FAILED opposition POLITICIANS,” Chivayo wrote on his Facebook page.
Chivayo reflects on his journey, mentioning he made his first million at a young age, and reiterates that all his business dealings across Africa are based on professionalism and integrity.
Despite the smear attempts, he remains committed to his business and philanthropic endeavors, emphasizing that no amount of political envy or false propaganda will deter him from his goals.
