The Policy Brief No.1 of 2021 on ‘Sustaining the Arts Sector through Covid-19 and Beyond’ is now ready for distribution to all relevant stakeholders.
The electronic copies started circulating starting Monday.
According to Tafadzwa Muzondo, the director of Edzai Isu Trust, the policy brief was a result of a resolution by the first strategic virtual meeting on the DARE na NyanduriNyandoro WhatsApp platform with 150 diverse artists in the group.
“48 participants were active in the meeting among them artists/content creators, arts administrators, academics and development activists from different parts of Zimbabwe which including Harare, Gwanda, Hwange, Marondera, Chitungwiza, Kadoma, Gweru, Kwekwe, Lupane, Bulawayo, Mutare Victoria Falls and Karoi and as far as Maseru, Lesotho as per the register in the meeting minutes.
“With an exceptional panel of; content creators, arts managers, venue owners, media, legal, development, health and human rights experts, the meeting successfully unpacked the impact of Covid-19 Restrictive & Preventive Measures on the Creative Endeavors of artists in continuing with civic engagement and resolved to engage the government with this policy brief now ready for circulation.
