Harare – Zimbabwe is preparing for an unprecedented spiritual and cultural moment as the nation welcomes internationally renowned evangelist Andrew Palau for the Love Zimbabwe Festival — a nationwide celebration of faith, unity, and hope, culminating in a major gathering in Harare from September 26 to 28 at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfield.
Organized by the Luis Palau Association (LPA) in partnership with the country’s largest church bodies — including the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ), UDACIZA, the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC), and the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) — the festival is poised to be one of the most inclusive and impactful Christian events in the nation’s history.
A Festival Rooted in Unity and Love
More than a religious event, the Love Zimbabwe Festival is being hailed as a moment of national significance — bringing together people from all walks of life, denominations, and backgrounds under the shared banner of faith, family, and transformation.
“It’s an honor and a dream come true to partner with Zimbabwe’s churches and lift high the name of Jesus,” said Andrew Palau, who has dedicated over 25 years to spreading the Gospel across the globe. “Together, we can reach every member of the community — right there in the heart of the city.”
More Than a Message — A Movement
With activities designed for women, youth, children, and professionals, the festival combines accessible, family-friendly programming with a powerful spiritual mission.
Interactive outreach methods — including BMX and FMX stunt shows, a children’s fun zone, and music performances — offer an engaging and non-threatening entry point into the message of Jesus Christ.
“The festival is tailored for unbelievers,” said Bishop Never Muparutsa. “We’re creating space where the unchurched can meet Jesus in their own setting — with love and without pressure.”
A Voice of Hope for Today’s Challenges
Amid rising concerns around youth challenges like drug and substance abuse, the festival arrives at a timely moment.
“As mothers and women, we’re desperate for answers,” said Bishop Mavis Gurupira. “This festival offers our youth a place to be seen, loved, and transformed.”
Reverend Wilfred Dimingu echoed this call to unity:
“This is an opportunity for us as Zimbabweans to come together regardless of denomination. Come and witness God’s hand at work.”
Music That Moves the Soul
The Love Zimbabwe Festival will also feature performances by over 20 top local and international gospel artists, including Ada Ehi (Nigeria), Michael Mahendere, Takesure Zamar, Janet Manyowa, Mathias Mhere, Joyous Praise, and many more.
“We’re coming in the power of the Holy Ghost,” said Nigerian gospel star Ada Ehi, who will perform alongside a powerful line-up of Zimbabwean gospel ministers. “We can’t wait!”
A Nationwide Campaign for the Gospel
The festival is the climax of a national evangelistic campaign, with events taking place in multiple cities before the grand finale in Harare. Organizers aim to reach at least 200,000 people with the gospel through these gatherings.
“As African Indigenous Churches, we are breaking records by partnering with other denominations for the common good,” said Dr. Rev. Innocent Chitanda. “This is history in the making.”
