In celebration of the Day of the African Child, Ambassador Apphia N. Musavengane, President and Founder of Concord for Young Women in Business, on Wednesday graced the commemorations at Louis Mountbatten as the Guest of Honour, bringing hope, inspiration and tangible support to young learners.
Demonstrating her unwavering commitment to education and child development, Ambassador Musavengane, through the Bridging Gaps Foundation, pledged to sponsor school fees for 20 vulnerable children until they complete Grade 7.
In addition, every child who attended the celebrations received a school package to support their educational journey.

To encourage creativity and talent among children, cash prizes were awarded to outstanding young performers, with the first-place winner receiving US$500, the second-place winner receiving US$300, and the third-place winner receiving US$150.
On top of that she also gave 10 laptops
Addressing the children, Ambassador Musavengane shared words of encouragement and reminded them of the teachings consistently championed by Zimbabwe’s First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa.
Through her cultural and educational programmes, the First Lady has continually emphasized the importance of preserving Zimbabwean values, respecting elders, embracing good morals, and remaining rooted in African culture and identity.
Her initiatives have also focused on empowering children, promoting education, and nurturing responsible future citizens.
Ambassador Musavengane urged the children to uphold these values, reminding them that their culture is their identity and that respect, discipline and education are key pillars for a brighter future.
She further commended the work being done through the Angel of Hope Foundation, which has positively impacted vulnerable children, women and communities across Zimbabwe through education, health and empowerment programmes.
She also took the opportunity to express her heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Tagwirei for her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable communities across Zimbabwe.
Ambassador Musavengane applauded the remarkable work being carried out through the Bridging Gaps Foundation, whose initiatives in education, healthcare, scholarships and community empowerment continue to transform lives and create opportunities for disadvantaged families.
She noted that Dr. Kuda Tagwirei’s compassion, generosity and dedication to uplifting communities embody the spirit of service and nation-building that is essential for the development of future generations.
The event was a powerful reminder that when leaders invest in children, they invest in the future of the nation.
Through the generosity of the Bridging Gaps Foundation, the leadership of Dr. Tagwirei, and the continued advocacy of leaders such as Ambassador Apphia N. Musavengane, many young lives are being given the opportunity to dream bigger, learn better and build a brighter tomorrow.
