Harare’s youth culture is about to take centre stage as Ama2K Fest roars into the capital on April 4, 2026, promising a high-energy celebration tailored for Generation Z.
The festival, set for Belgravia Sports Club from 12 noon, is headlined by Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ruger, whose infectious Afro-dancehall sound has made him one of the continent’s most streamed young stars.
Since breaking out in 2021, Ruger has carved a reputation for bold style, catchy hooks and electrifying stage performances.
With hits such as Dior, Bounce, Jay Jay and Asiwaju, the singer is expected to deliver a crowd-thrilling set that will have fans singing word for word.
Ama2K Fest — named after the slang reference to the post-2000 generation — is designed as more than just a concert. It is a youth-driven cultural moment, blending music, fashion and vibrant social energy.
The line-up also shines a spotlight on Zimbabwe’s rising stars, including Atenda Chinx, Shashl, Yahya, Nutty O, Bagga and Runna Rulez — a youthful mix reflecting the soundscape shaping urban Zimbabwe today.
Adding regional flavour are South African crowd favourites Naledi Aphiwe and Scotts Maphuma, both expected to draw strong support from local fans.
Naledi Aphiwe recently found herself trending on social media following a resurfaced comment ahead of her Zimbabwe performance.
The young singer has since addressed the matter, issuing an apology and expressing regret for any offence caused, in a move that appears to have reassured her fan base ahead of the show.
Organisers say preparations are at an advanced stage, with the festival promising tight security, immersive stage production and an atmosphere tailored for youthful revelry.
The event is being organised by Perivent Global and award-winning promoters Chipaz Promotions, who have pledged a polished and memorable experience.
With an explosive international headliner and a vibrant regional and local cast, Ama2K Fest is shaping up to be one of Harare’s most anticipated youth events of the year.
