HARARE — The stage is set, the horses are primed, and the speakers are ready to blast — Castle Tankard 2025 is galloping into Borrowdale Park this Saturday, and it’s more than just a race, it’s a celebration!

Marking its 65th edition, Zimbabwe’s most iconic Grade One horse race returns under the theme “The Legacy Continues”, promising a full day of thrills, music, and mouthwatering vibes — Castle Lager style.

With US$50,000 in prize money on the line, punters will have every reason to place their bets, but for those who just want to party, Delta Beverages and Mashonaland Turf Club have curated a high-energy entertainment experience.

Oriyano, one of the show’s breakout performers, is amped for his debut on the Tankard stage.

“It’s something I grew up watching and admiring — and now I’m part of it. Fans can expect the best from me,” he said.

Addressing comparisons to superstar Jah Prayzah, Oriyano humbly responded, “We’re both about making people happy. Jah is a living legend; I’m just starting out.”

Already riding high on hits like Makarima Mupoto, Oriyano joins a star-studded lineup that includes sungura king Alick Macheso, Zim dancehall heavyweights Enzo Ishall, Delroy Shewe, Nisha Ts, and the party-starters Chillspot Family.

Kundayi Mawema, Marketing Manager for Lagers at Delta Beverages, said this year’s Castle Tankard is set to be the biggest yet.

“Beyond the world-class racing, we’ve got sizzling braais, ice-cold Castle Lager at pump price, and a festival atmosphere from morning till evening,” she said.

Gates open at 10AM, and the party doesn’t stop until 7:30PM. From the thunder of hooves to the thump of basslines, this is one Saturday you don’t want to miss.

So, dust off your best outfit, grab your friends, and come experience the adrenaline, the rhythm, and the legacy — Castle Tankard 2025 is here to thrill!
