Mashonaland West — Boys DzaMdara National Chairman, Hopewell T. Chako, has underscored the importance of collective effort in shaping the next generation of Zimbabwean leaders.
Speaking at the Ditschwe Primary School Prize-Giving Day, an event that celebrated academic excellence and community solidarity, Chako commended Headmaster Ashford Marimo, teachers, and parents for their unwavering dedication to the learners’ success.
“I am not a man of words, but a man of deeds,” said Chako, as he unveiled an extensive support package for the school — including renovation of the administration block, provision of free uniforms for all 671 pupils, scholarships for the top four performers, and payment of school fees for vulnerable children.
The Boys DzaMdara Mashonaland West Chapter also donated a Starlink kit, two wheelchairs, and farming inputs to boost the school’s agricultural projects.
Emphasizing the value of education and moral guidance, Chako urged communities to play an active role in protecting young people.
“Education is the key to success. Let’s safeguard our children from drugs and negative influences — we must catch them young,” he said.
The event attracted strong support from various partners. Violet Mashonga of Journalists 4ED donated 100 pairs of shoes, while Medeline Yohana of Interpreters 4ED pledged to provide school fees and uniforms for two learners with disabilities. In addition, Junior President Lionel Mazariri contributed textbooks to enrich the school library.
Headmaster Ashford Marimo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming community support.
“Our pupils are hardworking, creative, and resilient. We thank parents and partners for their pivotal role — no child will be left behind at Ditschwe Primary,” he said.
The ceremony highlighted the transformative impact of unity and collaboration.
“Together, we will keep Ditschwe Primary thriving,” the school community declared.
