HARARE — Global interest in Zimbabwe’s tourism sector is on the rise as seven countries have confirmed participation at the Sanganai/Hlanganani Kumbanayi Tourism Expo 2025, set to take place in Mutare from September 4–7.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, buyers from Ghana, Indonesia, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Tanzania, and South Africa have already secured tickets and will be actively participating in this year’s edition.
Of particular note, Ghana has expressed interest in showcasing its culinary culture through participation in the Gastronomy Hub, while South Africa’s Vhembe Municipality is bringing a delegation of 10 SMEs to explore cross-border tourism and business opportunities.
“This reflects the growing confidence in Zimbabwe as a competitive tourism destination,” said Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
“The presence of these countries strengthens the Expo’s position as a serious platform for regional and international engagement.”
The Expo will serve as a networking and business-to-business platform for local operators and international investors to build partnerships, sign deals, and expand collaborative efforts in destination marketing, hospitality, and cultural tourism.
Buyers will also participate in familiarisation tours across Manicaland, giving them first-hand experience of attractions such as the Eastern Highlands, which include the majestic Chimanimani Mountains and lush Vumba Botanical Gardens.
