The deadline has now passed for the Munondida Ndakadaro Open Verse Challenge, and for the five finalists waiting in the wings, life is about to change.
The challenge, brainchild of celebrated gospel Minister Everton Mlalazi, was more than just a competition—it was an invitation. Inspired by his chart-topping hit “Munondida Ndakadaro” (from the acclaimed album Great God), Mlalazi opened the studio doors, so to speak, to the nation.
He asked everyday artists to add their own verse to his beloved track, to post it, and to dare to dream.

For one lucky winner, this moment will be unforgettable. They won’t just walk away with bragging rights; they will claim a life-changing $1,000 CASH prize courtesy of Everton Music—a financial boost that could kickstart a dream or elevate a ministry.
But the winner won’t be chosen lightly. Every entry has been scrutinized with a careful eye, judged on a blend of raw talent and spiritual connection.
The adjudicators are looking for that special spark—the originality of the lyrics, the beauty of the melody, and how creatively artists weave their languages into the song.
Crucially, they are also watching you, the fans. The level of engagement, the likes, shares, and comments on the Facebook page, all play a part in determining who captures the hearts of the people.
In a heartfelt message that has since warmed the pages of his official Facebook page, Everton Mlalazi took a moment to appreciate the courage of every single person who submitted.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who submitted their verses,” Mlalazi wrote. “Your creativity, passion and talent did not go unnoticed. We appreciate every artist who took the time to be part of this moment.”
