#3mobRadioPresents has revealed the cast for its third podcast drama series, Chema, set to debut Monday, 30 August 2021.
Created by Larry Kwirirayi, who also co-wrote it with Musekiwa Samuriwo, with Kevin Hanssen recording and editing, Chema follows the trials of Talent (Chipo Chikara) after an event in her life changes its trajectory.
Also starring in this series, after appearing in the previous ones under the production house, are Tafadzwa Bob, Munya Guramatunhu, Musa Saruro, Prudence Katomeni Mbofana, Joylene Malenga, Michael Kudawkashe and introducing Gertrude Munhamo. Hanssen and Kwirirayi also lend their voices to the series.
The ensemble plays both single and multiple characters as the five-part series takes dramatic twists, set in Zimbabwe’s 2011, on the week that there was the Chitungwiza explosion. The show is juxtaposed against that event in a riveting storyline littered with ebbs and flows in a week with increasingly diminished moral questions and judgements.
“It was a very exciting series to produce, and working with a cast we thought understood and felt the story well was edifying,” said Kwirirayi also the executive producer of the show.
“As always, we want people to see themselves in the characters. That is something Musekiwa and I spent hours trying to sharpen. The cast however crystalised the characters in ways we could not have imagined and credit to Kevin for bringing that world to existence so beautifully.”
Chema debuts Monday 30 August 2021 at 11 am, with new episodes daily until 3 September 2021.
Like Ribro Banda Lebo Shanda and Ende Futi, the two series before it, Chema will be available on https://3-mob.com/radio as well different podcatchers like Apple Podcasts (iTunes) and Google Podcasts. You can subscribe to #3mobRadioPresents there and when new episodes drop, you will be the first to be notified.
