In a gripping encounter at Nyamhunga Stadium, ZPC Kariba triumphed over Chicken Inn in the Chibuku Super Cup, securing their place in the next round with a dramatic 6-5 victory in a penalty shootout.
The match concluded in a stalemate, 0-0, after 90 minutes of intense football, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.
Both teams entered the match with high hopes, and it quickly became apparent that they were well-matched.
ZPC Kariba‘s Munashe Kamwendo had an early opportunity but squandered a chance after a loose ball from Moses Demera.
On the other side, Chicken Inn’s Lincoln Mangaira was instrumental on the left wing, consistently creating scoring opportunities for his side. Despite some shaky moments in the first ten minutes, ZPC Kariba’s defense rallied to stabilize their game.
Brian Muza of Chicken Inn was a persistent threat, launching several attempts on goal. His best chance—a powerful shot—was expertly parried away by ZPC’s keeper, Future Sibanda, who delivered a series of crucial saves that proved vital in keeping Chicken Inn at bay.

Leeroy Saungweme of Chicken Inn also attempted to break the deadlock, but once again, Sibanda stood firm, denying the striker with another impressive save.
Despite a flurry of chances from both sides, neither team could find the net, leading to a tense penalty shootout. The shootout was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams exchanging leads. However, it
was ZPC Kariba who held their nerve in the final moments, converting six penalties to Chicken Inn’s five.
